Focus, man! Focus!

I'm having a really hard time focusing tonight. These are my thoughts the past 30 seconds:

"Ok, time to start the second week of the semester. I have to read a section of chemistry for tomorrow and I have some physics to prepare... But then again, I do have to leave physics early tomorrow cause I have work... No! I still need to prepare for it! You know, I could really use that lamp I packed up. Where did I pack that? Dang it, it's in the tub in the bottom of the storage closet! Hmmm, I'll reconsider that lamp. Oh yeah, Chemistry! Dang it!"

It's a lot harder to come off a break from school than I remembered.

Tough Choices

Well, the Winter semester has begun and I've already had to make some tough choices. This semester I am signed up for Chem 106, physics 105, Media Law and Ethics, and some 1 credit class that I have to take because I'm done with all the classes for my major.
WELL, Chem 105 was really hard for me and Chem 106 is a straight continuation of 105. It literally starts at chapter 11 where 105 left off and keeps on going. As far as physics goes, I have never taken a physics class and my teacher is kind of insane. Insane like an evil genius is insane. He goes on and on talking about all this physics stuff that I don't understand and every now and then he'll start to giggle and tell us that he just said a joke. Of course I didn't know that it was supposed to be a joke because I don't know what the hell he is talking about in the first place. I went to my media law class and my teacher told me that it's pretty much going to be a pre-view of Law School. I don't plan on going to Law School so I wasn't too excited to hear that. The tests for the class are all take home but he said they are going to take a couple hours to do (25 questions) because you have to sift through tons of cases and compare verdicts to come up with an answer.
So, pretty much I came home today and the verge of tears like a girl during that time of the month. I have a hard chem class that I'm rusty on, a physics class that I'm COMPLETELY lost in, and a class straight out of Law School. I called my mom and spilled guts! What should I do?! Of course, being the best mom in the whole world, she helped me come up with a plan and motived the crap of me to do my best. Pretty much I'm going to focus on Chem 106 and Media Law and just try to learn what I can out of physics. I figure if I can get A's in my other classes, it doesn't really matter what I get in physics cause I'll just plan on taking it over again next semester. having had a preview of the whole class and learning most of it along the way I should be able to get an A in physics next semester and continue on with my never ending education as planned.
*(sigh)* What a day!

Makin' Progress

Well, 2011 is here! 2010 was a doozy. Let me give you a recap:

Winer semester:
In January I moved to The Ridge. This is one of the nicest apartment complexes in Rexburg. What makes it nice is that each unit is HUGE and has two fridges, which is nice when you have 6 guys in one place. I did well in my classes and got straight A's once again.

Summer semester:
This was a big semester for me because I had 16 credits and a couple of those were really hard classes. I was on a program at my school that lets me go to all three of the semesters they offer rather than the regular two they usually allow you to attend. The problem is that in order to be on this program you have to take 15 credits or more and with the classes I had left, that was going to be too much. I ended up getting 1 or 2 B's for the first time in my college career and decided it was time for me to scale things back. I got off the program which meant during the Fall semester I wouldn't be able to take any classes.
I got a job at Wingers to make some money now that I would be able to get my scholarship or grants anymore. (You need to be taking 14 credits or more to receive free money)

Fall semester:
I worked as much as I could and end up making enough to pay alot of my bills for the next semester. I had some awesome roommates and partied a ton! But all good things must come to an end. As the semester came to a close I decided to part ways with The Ridge. The apartment it self was awesome but there wasn't a great social scene there and the management was horrible. To people considering it as their new home: caution. I moved back to the old complex I used to live at and I'm rooming with some way cool guys that I roomed with at The Ridge.
I went home for a week during Christmas and decided it was time for me to get a car. I had been driving a scooter which was awesome for the summer but for 7 months of the year up here it is snowy so it wasn't to practical considering I'm looking to get married one of these days. With the help of my friend Mark Orwig I was able to buy a 2007 Honda Civic coupe for an amazing price! I absolutely love the car and I just know the honeys are gonna come runnin'!

Now:
I'm typing this from my new bedroom. It's small but nice. I'm nervous for classes to start this week but I'm gonna do my best and that's all I can do! I'll try to keep you updated as the semester/year progresses. I have a feeling it's gonna be a big one.
